• Common-law partner (lived together for at least 12 consecutive months)

• Conjugal partner (relationship for at least 1 year, but unable to live together due to barriers such as immigration, religion, or sexual orientation)

📝 Eligibility Criteria for Sponsor:

• Must be 18 years or older

• Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or registered Indian under the Canadian Indian Act

• Not receiving social assistance (except for disability)

• Can financially support the spouse/partner

📝 Eligibility for Sponsored Person:

• Must pass medical, criminal, and background checks

• Must prove the relationship is genuine and not entered for immigration purposes
